Reading this chapter I seen a lot of similarities to Bloomsburg. The first pattern I have noticed was how the RA's tries hard to get everyone together to do different activities. However, no one shows up. Personally, I have never been to any of my RA's activities or even the mandatory wing meetings. From my own experience, I feel like students do not attend these because they rather hang out with their other friends who are in different halls or maybe they just don't feel like getting out of their rooms.
Another trend I had seen that relates to Bloomsburg is how no one really uses the lounge area to do different things.I mean, here in the hall Northumberland no one uses the lounge but in the summer program when I was in Elwell, there would always be students in the lounge. I feel as though students thats do not use the lounge might not be comfortable being around other people that do they not know. In the Rose reading she talks about how the restaurant is a very structure place to work in. This can relate to college because college is like that as well. Students have to keep track of time and make sure that their day is structured around their work loads also. Everyone struggles in the beginning but in the end if you work hard enough you will become successful.
